A popular film festival has announced its return this April.

Cinema Made in Italy will make its online debut from 16 April until 29 April this year.

This means the 11th edition of the London-centric festival will now be available to viewers across the UK and Ireland.

All nine films will be accessible exclusively on the curated streaming service MUBI.

The 14-day event will showcase a range of the best recent Italian productions.

This includes The Ties (Lacci) directed by Daniele Luchetti and Thou Shall Not Hate (Non Odiare) directed by Mauro Mancini.

Lacci tells the story of the breakdown of a middle-class couple’s marriage.

It was the first Italian film to screen as the opening feature of the Venice International Film Festival in over a decade.

Other films to be screened include Padrenostro, directed by Claudio Noce and The Predators (I Predatori), directed by Pietro Castellitto.

This year’s programme also features a filmmaker Q&A session with select directors.

This will be accessible through the Italian Cultural Institute’s Vimeo channel.

Those interested in attending can access a 30 day free trial of MUBI.
