Ammonite Is Coming to Select UK Cinemas
Critically-acclaimed drama Ammonite will receive a cinematic release in select UK theatres this May, it has been confirmed.
Directed by Francis Lee, the film was released on digital platforms on Friday, March 26, but will now be made available on the big screen when cinemas across the country reopen next month.
Nominated for over 20 different awards and with an audience score of 85% on Rotten Tomatoes, Ammonite is set in the 1840s and follows a passionate romance between fossil hunter Mary Anning (played by Kate Winslet) and a young woman named Charlotte Murchison (Saoirse Ronan).
Empire magazine described the movie as "another tenderly executed triumph from Lee" following his impressive directorial debut God's Own Country, and The Hollywood Reporter said it is "the work of a mature filmmaker in full command of his voice, yielding remarkable performances".
Ammonite will release in select cinemas across the UK from Monday, May 17 and is available now on all digital platforms.
